An adaptor (120) for use with a closed suction catheter assembly (100) includes a housing (128), the internal chamber of which may contain ribs (132). The adaptor (120) may further contain a release assembly (180) for separating the housing of the adaptor (120) from the tracheostomy tube (104). By compressing the release assembly (180), the adaptor (120), which engages the tracheostomy, is forced distally, out of contact with the tracheostomy tube (104), to thereby release the closed suction catheter assembly (100).

L'invention concerne un adaptateur utilisé avec un ensemble cathéter d'aspiration fermé comprenant un logement, et une chambre intérieure pouvant contenir des nervures. Ledit adaptateur peut également contenir un ensemble de libération permettant de séparer le logement de l'adaptateur d'un tube de trachéotomie. Lorsqu'on comprime l'ensemble de libération, l'adaptateur en contact avec le tube de trachéotomie est forcé distalement de façon à être séparé dudit tube de trachéotomie, ce qui permet de libérer ledit ensemble cathéter d'aspiration fermé.
