The present invention relates to thermally stable, high surface area alumina supports and method of preparing such supports with at least one modifying agent. The method includes adding the modifying agent to the alumina prior to calcining. More particularly, the invention relates to the use of such catalysts for the catalytic partial oxidation of light hydrocarbons (e.g., methane or natural gas) to produce primarily synthesis gas. The present invention further relates to gas-to-liquids conversion processes, more specifically for producing C5+ hydrocarbons.
La présente invention concerne des supports d'alumine thermiquement stables et à grande surface active, ainsi qu'un procédé pour préparer de tels supports avec au moins un agent de modification. Ce procédé consiste à ajouter l'agent de modification à l'alumine avant calcination. Elle concerne notamment l'utilisation de tels catalyseurs pour l'oxydation partielle catalytique d'hydrocarbures légers (par ex. du méthane ou du gaz naturel) afin de produire principalement du gaz de synthèse. Cette invention concerne également des procédés de conversion de gaz en liquides, plus particulièrement afin de produire des hydrocarbures C5+.
