An improved ocean wave energy extraction system is disclosed. The system includes at least one duct for receiving an oscillating water column. The duct has a first segment, a second segment arranged transversely to the first segment and a flow control segment intermediate the first and second segments. The flow control segment is configured to inhibit turbulent flow of the oscillating water column flowing within the duct. A turbine is in fluid communication with the second segment of the duct such that the turbine is driven by the fluid flow which is generated by the oscillations of the oscillating water column within the duct. The turbine rotates an electric generator to thereby generate electrical energy.

L'invention concerne un système amélioré dextraction dénergie des vagues océaniques. Le système comprend au moins un conduit destiné à recevoir une colonne deau oscillante. Le conduit comporte un premier segment, un deuxième segment disposé transversalement par rapport au premier segment et un segment de régulation de débit situé entre le premier et le deuxième segment. Le segment de régulation de débit est configuré de façon à entraver lécoulement turbulent de la colonne deau oscillante circulant à lintérieur du conduit. Une turbine est en communication fluidique avec le deuxième segment du conduit de telle sorte que la turbine soit actionnée par lécoulement de fluide généré par les oscillations de la colonne deau oscillante à lintérieur du conduit. La turbine fait tourner un générateur électrique afin de générer ainsi de lénergie électrique.
