An insertion head assembly for inserting components into circuit boards includes an insert head having a housing, a hauling mechanism for moving the components, a punch, and a gear set that is operative to move the insertion head to a position adjacent a circuit board and operative to move the punch into a position such that a selected one of the components is inserted into the circuit board.
