Induction drives for either straight or curved conveyors as well as methods of driving endless conveyor belts. Pivotable magnets (310...) can be free floating in holders (330), or in other embodiments, each pivotable magnet (50...,190...,350...) can be interconnected serially with its previous and its subsequent magnet. Whether free floating or serially interconnected pivotable magnets (50...,190...,310...,350...) create the virtual continuous magnetic body (150...,290...,440...). When the virtual continuous magnetic body (150...,290...,440...) encounters the stator's electromagnetic field the resultant magnetic flux pushes the continuous magnetic body (150...,290...,440...) through the groove (40, 210, 230) of the conveyor bed (38, 112, 220). Each of the pivotable magnets (50...,190...,310...,350...) is dimensioned to not impede its previous magnet and its subsequent magnet, when the electromagnetic flux is reversed.

L'invention concerne des entraînements par induction destinés à des transporteurs droits ou incurvés ainsi que des procédés permettant d'actionner des transporteurs à courroie sans fin. Des aimants pivotants (310...) peuvent flotter librement dans des supports (330) ou, dans d'autres modes de réalisation, chaque aimant pivotant (50...,190...,350...) peut être monté en série avec l'aimant qui le précède et l'aimant qui le suit. Qu'ils soient flottants ou montés en série, les aimants pivotants (50...,190...,310...,350...) créent un corps magnétique continu virtuel (150...,290...,440...).
