Abstract of the Disclosure Inorganic fiber compositions are disclosed consisting essentially of SiO2, CaO, about 0.1-30 wt % MgO, and 0-10 wt % A12O3. The fibers of this invention are suitable for thermal insulation at continuous service temperatures from 1370°F to 1500°F and find particular use as insulating mats and blankets for furnaces, kilns, and automobile catalytic converters.
