Bimodal inorganic material that in a pore size distribution plot has distinct mesopore and micropore peaks. A process for producing a bimodal material or a material that contains essentially only mesopores involves heating an inorganic oxide in the presence of material that bonds to the inorganic oxide by hydrogen bonding. The micropores may or may not include a crystalline structure.
La présente invention concerne une substance minérale bimodale qui, sur un représentation graphique de la distribution de taille de pores, présente des pics distincts de mésopores et de micropores. Cette invention concerne également un procédé de production d'une substance bimodale ou d'une substance ne contenant pratiquement que des mésopores, ledit procédé faisant intervenir le chauffage d'un oxyde minéral en présence d'une substance qui se lie à l'oxyde minéral par liaison hydrogène. Les micropores peuvent présenter ou non une structure cristalline.
