Automatic tuning of an EAS antenna pedestal (14, Fig. 2A) without the use of special tools or advanced training is provided. The capacitance of the antenna circuit is adjusted to tune the resonant frequency to the desired frequency. Measurement of the current level is used to validate that the antenna is resonant at the desired frequency. If the current level indicates that the antenna is not resonant at the specified frequency. LEDs (Fig. 2A) located on a capacitor tuning board light to indicate where jumpers (10, Fig. 1) should be placed to add or remove capacitance from the circuit. Alternately, the capacitance values can be electronically added or removed from the circuit.
L'invention concerne un système d'accordage automatique destiné à un socle d'antenne (14, Fig. 2A) de système électronique de surveillance d'articles, ne nécessitant aucun outil spécial ou formation spécialisée. Ce procédé consiste à régler la capacité du circuit de l'antenne pour accorder la fréquence de résonance à la fréquence désirée et à mesurer le niveau de courant pour s'assurer que l'antenne est résonante à la fréquence désirée. Si le niveau de courant indique que l'antenne n'est pas résonante à la fréquence spécifiée, des diodes (Fig. 2A) situées sur une carte d'accord de condensateur s'allument pour indiquer où des connexions temporaires (10, Fig. 1) doivent être placées pour ajouter ou enlever de la capacité au circuit.
