A coating system comprising: (1) a liquid intumescent coating composition comprising a resin system comprising at least one polymeric component, at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomeric component, and at least one intumescent ingredient, the coating composition being curable to a solid state by free radical polymerisation, and (2) a reinforcement structure. The reinforcement structure may comprise any of mesh, fabric and/or tape. The reinforcement structure preferably comprises an inorganic fabric, and may be installed by application of a suitable adhesive binder.

L~invention concerne un système de revêtement comprenant : (1) une composition de revêtement intumescente liquide comprenant un système de résine comprenant au moins un composant polymère, au moins un composant monomère éthyléniquement insaturé et au moins un ingrédient intumescent, la composition de revêtement étant durcissable en un état solide par polymérisation à radicaux libres ; et (2) une structure de renfort. La structure de renfort peut comprendre, au choix, un maillage, un tissu et/ou une bande. La structure de renfort se compose de préférence d~un tissu inorganique, et peut être installée par application d'un liant adhésif approprié.
