ABSTRACT This invention relates to checkbits or overdraw checks for harness horses. It is a bit which controls a horse who has a serious tendency to pull his head down with force, which in many instances causes an accident, or injury to himself and driver. This is a straight check- bit with an upside down "U" piece of rounded metal attached to the outer edges of the bit. The bit fits on the horses bridle as a normal checkbit and the "U" piece fits inside the horses mouth, over the top teeth. The metal "U" only controls the horse when he pulls down in the check, otherwise it lays above the teeth on the gum without the horse knowing it.
