Apparatus for generating thrust includes a steam nozzle (4) provided with a diffuser (6) encased within a secondary annular nozzle (10) which in use provides a shroud of air for emergent steam thereby to delay the implosion thereof upon contact with surrounding liquid, e.g. water, at a lower temperature.
L'invention concerne un appareil générant une poussée et comprenant une buse à vapeur (4) dotée d'un diffuseur (6) contenu à l'intérieur d'une buse (10) annulaire secondaire. Lors de son utilisation, ladite buse crée une gaine d'air autour de la vapeur émergente, afin de retarder l'implosion de cette dernière lorsqu'elle entre en contact avec un liquide environnant, par exemple de l'eau à basse température.
