A B S T R A C T A process and apparatus is disclosed of joining two sheets of material one of which is glass and the other transparent plastic by means of adhesive which is cured by irradiation. A glass laminate with a transparent plastic interlayer is also pro- vided. Pressure is applied by rollers to squeeze adhesive towards a side edge. The rollers are rotated so as to effect relative movement between the sheets and pressure applying means. The speed of the relative movement and the pressure exerted on the sheets are such that the leading edge of the film on the side of the plane of pressure remote from the side edge proximate and parallel to the pressure application is always spaced from the plane of pres- sure until the sheets have passed through the plane of pressure. The rollers are immediately in advance of the radiation generating means.
