The present invention is related to compounds which inhibit pancreatic cholesterol esterase. The compounds have formula (I), wherein R1 is H or C1-6 alkyl; R2 is H or C1-6 alkyl; R3 is H or C1-6 alkyl; X is CHR6, S or O; R6 is H or C1-6 alkyl; R4 is a hydrophobic moiety; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
