ABSTRACT A method for stretching and drying pieces of leather, skins and other similar flat materials is disclosed. Two elastic foils, which are impervious to air, are arranged one on each side of the leather, and the volume between the leather and the two foils is connected to a vacuum source. The foils are subsequently expanded, by forces exerted on the edges of the foils.
