A light guide (34) luminaire (20) includes a longitudinal housing (22) having a center (43) and an inner surface (41), and a light guide (34) formed of at least two sections (24a, 24b) of optical lighting film (26a-c) arranged within the housing (22) such that the shortest distance between the center (43) of the housing (22) and the inner surface (41) of the housing (22) is smaller than the radius of curvature of each section (24a, 24b) of optical lighting film (26a-c). The light guide (34) is slidably retained within the housing (22), and the housing (22) and optical lighting film (26a-c) are arranged to define air gaps (36) between the housing (22) and optical lighting film (26a- c). The luminaire (20) may also include an extractor element (28) extending radially inwardly from the inner surface (41) of the housing (22) for scattering light, and a back reflector (24a-24b) for reflecting light back into the light guide (34). A joint member adapted to slidably receive end portions of the optical lighting film sections (26a-c),the back reflector sections (25a-24b), and an extractor element (28) is also disclosed.
