A lighting apparatus for use with in line blade type skates ("Rollerblade" or ice skates) may be temporarily applied to the sides of the blade below the arch of the skate, with the control box temporarily secured within the opening in the arch. The control box may contain the battery power supply, an on/off switch, and optionally may include a circuit providing for the intermittent flashing of the light(s). The lights are included in one or more small tubes which are applied to one or both sides of the skate. Each tube preferably contains a series of lights (preferably light emitting diodes) wired up to the switch, power supply and (optional) flasher circuit. When the switch is turned on, the light display provides an attractive addition to a skating performance and may substantially increase safety when a skater is skating outdoors at night.
La présente invention se rapporte à un dispositif d'éclairage pour patins de type à roues alignées ou à lame (Rollerblade ou patins à glace). Le dispositif peut être installé de façon temporaire sur les côtés de la lame, sous la cambrure du patin, le boîtier de commande étant fixé de façon non permanente à l'intérieur de la cambrure. Le boîtier de commande peut contenir un dispositif d'alimentation par pile et un interrupteur et comprendre en option un circuit assurant le clignotement des lumières. Ces dernières sont insérées dans un ou plusieurs tubes de petite dimension disposés sur un des côtés ou sur les deux côtés du patin. Chaque tube contient de préférence une série de lumières (de préférence des diodes électroluminescentes) reliées à l'interrupteur, au dispositif d'alimentation et au circuit de clignotement (facultatif). Lorsque le dispositif d'éclairage est mis sous tension, les lumières produisent un bel effet lorsqu'un patineur s'exécute et peuvent améliorer considérablement la sécurité du patineur qui s'adonne au patinage à l'extérieur le soir.
