ABSTRACT Shields tend to retain heat while shading glass sheets from a heat source. As the shield retains more heat, it loses its effectiveness to shade the glass sheet. A second shield is positioned between the glass sheet and the hot shield to maintain effective shading of the glass sheet for proper heat distribution and forming of the sheet.
