ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A machine for exercising the muscles associated with the lower back of the user is disclosed. It includes a frame, a seat connected to the frame for supporting the user, and a resistance means also connected to the frame. A user actuated lever means has one end pivotally connected to the frame and the other end being positioned for engage- ment with the back of the user at a position above the user's waist. This end is movable in an arcuate path as the user moves and changes his spine from a forwardly bent position to a substantially straight position. The lever means is connected to a resistance means for providing resistance to movement of the user actuated means for exercising the muscles associated with the lower back of the user.
