ABSTRACT Lubricating compositions having oil self-release properties are disclosed which comprise a polypropylene having a low melt index and a synthetic lubricating oil based on neopentyl esters, the acid residues of which have on average a relatively short chain. Part of the neopentyl ester can be replaced by a phosphoric acid triester, and the compositions can optionally contain one or more polyamides. The solid compositions can be shaped into mechanical components, such as bearings.
