The present invention relates to a machine and process- for manufacturing covering plates or panels ready for use, said process consisting in: - connecting a mobile support and at least one tile intended to compose with a substrate a covering plate or panel by at least partial immersion of the tile in the substrate; - displacing said mobile support and the substrate, one against the other up to immersion of the tile in a chosen arrangement; - maintaining the support and the substrate immobile up to fixation of the tile in said arrangement, by solidifi- cation of the adhesive layer; and - disconnecting from the support the tile thus fixed to the substrate of the covering plate or panel thus obtained. The invention is more particularly applicable to the production of covering plates for example based on tiling.
