The present invention provides noval macrocyclic difluorostatone derivatives which are useful as antiviral agents. More specifically, these novel compounds are useful as inhibitors of retroviral proteases required for replication, particularly the HIV-1 and HIV-2 viral proteases, in the prevention or treatment of infection by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and in the treatment of consequent pathological conditions such as the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) in mammals capable of being infected with HIV virus.
L'invention concerne des nouveaux dérivés de difluorostatone macrocycliques utiles en tant qu'agents antiviraux. Plus spécifiquement, ces nouveaux composés sont utiles en tant qu'inhibiteurs des protéases rétrovirales requises pour la réplication, et plus particulièrement des protéases virales des VIH-1 et VIH-2, dans la prévention ou le traitement de l'infection à virus du syndrome immunodéficitaire acquis (VIH), et dans le traitement de pathologies résultantes telles que le syndrome d'immunodéficit acquis (SIDA) chez les mammifères susceptibles d'être infectés par le virus VIH.
