A magneto-optic memory medium including a first dielectric layer having a first main surface and a second main surface; a second dielectric layer for covering the first main surface of the first dielectric layer; and a magneto-optic memory layer for covering the second dielectric layer. The first dielectric layer is formed of an oxide having a refractive index in the range of 2.4 or more and 3.5 or less, and the second dielectric layer is formed of a material containing no oxygen. The magneto-optic memory medium is produced by the steps of forming a first layer by performing reactive sputtering in an atmosphere of a first sputter gas using a material containing a first element as a target; switching the first sputter gas to a second sputter gas; forming a second layer on the first layer by performing reactive sputtering in an atmosphere of the second sputter gas using a material containing the first element as a target; and forming a magneto-optic memory layer on the second dielectric layer.
L'invention est un support pour mémoire magnéto-optique comportant une première couche diélectrique ayant une première surface et une seconde surface, une seconde couche diélectrique recouvrant la première surface de la première couche diélectrique, et une couche de mémoire magnéto-optique recouvrant la seconde couche diélectrique. La première couche diélectrique est constituée par un oxyde ayant un indice de réfraction allant de 2,4 ou plus à 3,5 ou moins, et la seconde couche diélectrique est constituée d'un matériau dépourvu d'oxygène. Le support de mémoire magnéto-optique est construit en formant une première couche par pulvérisation réactive dans une atmosphère constituée par un premier gaz de pulvérisation à l'aide d'un matériau contenant un premier élément comme cible, en passant du premier gaz de pulvérisation à un second gaz de pulvérisation, en formant une seconde couche recouvrant la première par pulvérisation réactive dans une atmosphère constituée par le second gaz de pulvérisation à l'aide d'un matériau contenant le premier élément comme cible, et en formant la couche de mémoire magnéto-optique sur la seconde couche diélectrique.
