Mineral fibre products, in particular rigid bonded mineral fibre products, are provided which comprise composite mineral fibres having a coating-core configuration wherein the core provides at least 90 % by weight of the fibres and is formed of mineral melt and the coating is coated onto the core. The mineral melt is chosen so that the fibres without coating have adequate biological solubility and the coating comprises a phosphate or hydrogen phosphate of alkali metal, quaternary ammonium or ammonium in an amount of at least 0.3 % by weight of the core. The coated fibres surprisingly retain their biological solubility whilst having improved resistance to ageing in use.
On décrit des produits à base de fibres minérales, notamment des produits rigides à base de fibres minérales liées, composites et présentant une configuration gaine/coeur, dans laquelle le coeur représente au moins 90 % en poids des fibres et est formé d'une matière minérale en fusion, et le revêtement est déposé sur le coeur. La matière minérale de fusion est choisie de manière à ce que les fibres dépourvues de revêtement présentent une solubilité biologique adéquate, et le revêtement comprend un phosphate ou un hydrogéno phosphate d'un métal alcalin, d'ammonium quaternaire ou d'ammonium, dans une quantité qui est d'au minimum 0,3 % en poids du poids du coeur. Ces fibres enrobées conservent de manière surprenante leur solubilité biologique, alors qu'elles présentent une résistance améliorée au vieillissement, lors de leur utilisation.
