A process is disclosed for non-continuous galvanization of a metal object comprising pre-coating the surface with a protective metal by an electroless process with a uniform, continuous, thin coating of the metal, and then dipping the pre-coated metal into a hot Zn-Al alloy bath and controlling the temperature and dipping time such that the pre-coating substantially completely reacts with Al in the bath to form an interface compound layer, thereby causing the ZnAl alloy bath to react with the surface of the metal and form an adherent layer and produce a continuous galvanized coating of good morphology.

On décrit un procédé de galvanisation discontinue d'un objet métallique, qui consiste à mettre en oeuvre un processus autocatalytique pour préenduire la surface avec une couche mince, uniforme, continue d'un métal de protection. Le procédé consiste ensuite à tremper le métal préenduit dans un bain d'alliage zinc-aluminium, puis à régler la température et le temps de trempage jusqu'au point où le métal préenduit réagit de manière sensiblement complète dans le bain, en présence de l'aluminium, pour former une couche composite d'interface permettant au bain d'alliage zinc-aluminium de réagir au contact de la surface du métal pour former une couche adhésive et donner un revêtement galvanisé continu ayant une bonne morphologie.
