A method of manufacture and medical apparatus that provides an apparatus useful in illuminating at least a portion of a lumen of a body. The apparatus includes an elongated flexible member and a polymer encasement portion encasing a plurality of light emitters. The light emitters may be electrically coupled to one another without the use of wire bonds, and in some embodiments may be coupled without intervening electrical paths or traces. Light emitters may be arranged in partially overlapping back-to-back relation, either linearly and/or helically.
L~invention concerne un procédé de fabrication et un appareil médical permettant d~illuminer une partie au moins d~une lumière d~un corps. L~appareil comporte un élément souple allongé et une partie d~enrobage en polymère enrobant une pluralité d~émetteurs de lumière. Les émetteurs de lumière peuvent être reliés électriquement les uns aux autres sans utiliser de connexions par fils. Dans certains modes de réalisation, ils peuvent être reliés sans utiliser de chemins ou de rubans électriques intermédiaires. Les émetteurs de lumière peuvent être disposés dos à dos de façon à se chevaucher partiellement, soit sous forme linéaire, soit sous forme d~hélice.
