ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of and apparatus for arranging fragmen- tary particles on a conveyor into at least one row by vibra- ting a first zone of the conveyor surface to produce a relative motion between the particles and conveyor surface, which at the first zone has raised opposite longitudinal edge portions to subject the particles to forces trans- versely of the conveyor surface and thereby to deflect the particles into a row in which they are arranged in succession along the conveyor surface. The relative motion is terminated at a second zone of the conveyor surface before the particles leave the conveyor.
