An authentication method for authenticating an article (Fig. 2a, 202, 204, 208, 210) in a device includes the steps of a) reading an identification number stored on the article, b) reading an authentication number stored on the article, c) determining an input number based at least in part on the identification number, d) applying an authentication function to the input number to calculate an output number, e) determining that the article is authentic only if the authentication number corresponds to the output number, and f) permitting use of the article in the device if the article is authentic, and disabling use of the article in the device if the article is not authentic.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'authentification permettant d'authentifier un article dans un dispositif, qui consiste a) à lire le numéro d'identification enregistré sur l'article, b) à lire un numéro d'authentification enregistré sur l'article, c) à déterminer un numéro d'entrée fondé au moins partiellement sur le numéro d'identification, d) à appliquer une fonction d'authentification au numéro d'entrée pour calculer le numéro de sortie, e) à établir l'authenticité de l'article que si le numéro d'authentification et le numéro de sortie correspondent, et f) à autoriser l'utilisation de l'article dans le dispositif dans le cas où l'article est authentique, et à désactiver son utilisation dans le dispositif dans le cas où il ne l'est pas.
