ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of and apparatus for bending glass sheets between press members provided with opposed shaping rails having complemental surfaces for imparting the desired curvature to a heated glass sheet. Each of the press members is provided with a plurality of burners for directing localized heat to selective portions of the glass sheet during the bending thereof to con- dition the sheet for subsequent tempering.
