A system for detecting or determining the nature of a subterranean reservoir. An electromagnetic field is applied using a dipole antenna transmitter and this is detected using a dipole antenna receiver. The measurements are taken with the antenna both in-line and parallel and the difference between the two sets of measurements is exploited. A characteristic difference indicates a high resistive layer, which corresponds to a hydrocarbon reservoir.
L'invention concerne un système permettant de détecter ou de déterminer la nature d'un réservoir souterrain. Un champ électromagnétique est appliqué à l'aide d'un émetteur à antenne dipôle et est détecté à l'aide d'un récepteur à antenne dipôle. Les mesures sont effectuées avec l'antenne en ligne et en parallèle et on utilise la différence entre les deux groupes de mesures. Une différence caractéristique indique une couche à forte résistivité qui correspond au réservoir d'hydrocarbure.
