A method for marking an ophthalmic substrate or other ophthalmic article comprising the steps of -providing an ophthalmic substrate of suitable organic or mineral glass having opposed optical surfaces; -depositing a plurality of layers to define coatings on one or both of the opposed optical surface with anti-impact, anti-scratch, anti-reflection and/or anti- smudge properties, at least one of the layers being an electrically conductive layer; -providing a mask defining a configuration complementary to the desired marking for one of the surface of the coated ophthalmic substrate and positioning the mask in the immediate proximity of the ophthalmic substrate surface; and -providing an ion source and directing the ion beam from the ion source masked surface of the ophthalmic substrate to remove at least a portion of an outermost one of the coating layers exposed through the mask thereby producing a desired marking on the substrate surface coating rendered visible by fogging.
L'invention porte sur un procédé de fabrication d'un substrat ophtalmique ou autres articles ophtalmiques comprenant les étapes consistant à : - fournir un substrat ophtalmique en verre organique ou minéral approprié ayant des surfaces optiques opposées ; - déposer une pluralité de couches afin de définir des revêtements sur l'une ou les deux surfaces optiques opposées avec des propriétés anti-impacts, anti-rayures, antireflet et/ou antisalissures, au moins l'une des couches étant une couche électriquement conductrice ; - fournir un masque définissant une configuration complémentaire au marquage désiré pour l'une des surfaces du substrat ophtalmique revêtu et positionner le masque à proximité immédiate de la surface du substrat ophtalmique ; et fournir une source d'ions et diriger le faisceau d'ions provenant de la source d'ions vers la surface masquée du substrat ophtalmique pour retirer au moins une partie d'une couche la plus extérieure parmi les couches de revêtement exposées à travers le masque, produisant ainsi un marquage désiré sur le revêtement de surface de substrat rendu visible par ternissement.
