The invention relates to a method and apparatus for monitoring safety glass production or controlling a treatment process, such as a tempering process. Information representing a load of glass panels is used in controlling a treatment process, such as heating of glass panels, or in monitoring production. The information, which includes at least one of the following : shape, size, and position, is read with one or more cameras (6). This is possible as glass is made visible by means of reflected light as high intensity light is applied to the glass surface. The line camera (6) is used for receiving low intensity background light radiation incident through the glass conveying plane, a substantial increase in its intensity, as light is reflected by glass, being deciphered as glass.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif destinés à surveiller la production d'un verre de sécurité ou à contrôler une opération de traitement, telle qu'une opération de trempe. Des informations représentant une charge de panneaux de verre sont utilisées dans le contrôle d'une opération de traitement, telle que le chauffage de panneaux de verre, ou dans la surveillance de la production. Les informations, qui comprennent au moins la forme, la taille et/ou la position, sont lues au moyen d'une ou plusieurs caméras en ligne (6). Cela est possible du fait que le verre devient visible sous l'effet d'une lumière réfléchie, une lumière haute intensité étant appliquée sur la surface du verre. La caméra en ligne (6) permet de recevoir un rayonnement lumineux de fond de faible intensité incident à travers le plan d'acheminement du verre, une augmentation sensible d'intensité, lors de la réflexion de la lumière par le verre, étant indicatrice de la présence de verre.
