A hologram (2) having a covert image is made by recording on the hologram an object beam (14) that will reconstruct an unrecognizable, scrambled image. The scrambled image can be modified to form a recognizable image by passing the scrambled image through a plate (4) overlying the hologram.

On réalise un hologramme (2) comportant une image cachée en enregistrant sur cet hologramme un faisceau objet (14) qui reconstituera une image brouillée, non identifiable. Afin d'obtenir une image identifiable, il est possible de modifier l'image brouillée en la faisant passer à travers une plaque (4) recouvrant l'hologramme.
