ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In an apparatus and method for producing from an object having a three-dimensional shape a shape equivalent or analoguous to the three-dimensional shape, laser light is irradiated to the object. The light spots of the laser light are picked up by an image pick-up device, and two-dimensional positions of the light spot are obtained for each minute distance in a vertical direction of the object thereby to produce the three dimensional shape thereof.
