The invention relates to a method for recirculating the heavier solution from the separation part of liquid-liquid extraction to the mixing unit of the same extraction step, so that part of the recirculated solution is returned to the mixing unit from the overflow of the discharge end of the separation part. An essential feature of the invention is that the major part of the heavier solution recirculated into the mixing unit is obtained from the separation part proper, along the whole width thereof. The invention also relates to an apparatus based on said method, in which apparatus, in the bottom part of the settler (6) there is located a heavier solution collecting channel (13) extending over the whole width of the settler and being provided with suction pipes (15) which are oriented in an inclined fashion towards the solution to be collected from the channel.
Procédé permettant de remettre en circulation la solution plus lourde provenant de la partie de séparation d'un dispositif d'extraction liquide-liquide dans l'unité de mélange de la même étape d'extraction, si bien qu'une partie de la solution remise en circulation est renvoyée à l'unité de mélange depuis le débordement de l'extrémité d'évacuation de la partie de séparation. Le fait que la majeure partie de la solution plus lourde remise en circulation dans l'unité de mélange soit obtenue à partir de la partie de séparation elle-même, sur toute la largeur de cette dernière, constitue une caractéristique essentielle de la présente invention. La présente invention concerne aussi un appareil basé sur ledit procédé, dans lequel se trouve, dans la partie inférieure de la cuve du décanteur (6), un canal (13) de collecte de solution plus lourde qui s'étend sur toute la largeur du décanteur et est doté de tuyaux d'aspiration (15) qui sont orientés de manière inclinée vers la solution à recueillir depuis le canal.
