Apparatus and methods for co-application of physiologically active gas or vapor and drugs for the purpose of potentiating and/or controlling the effect of the drug and/or the physiologically active gas or vapor are provided. The methods include (i) simultaneous application of the gas and drug through inhalation or infusion and (ii) application of the drug and gas separately, with the drug applied by conventional systems and the gas applied through inhalation or infusion of mucous membranes. Apparatus includes structure (155, 161) for adjusting the mixture of gas and drug provided to the treated individual and a different screw arrangement (112) for controlling gas flow from a high-pressure container (145).
L'invention concerne des appareils et des méthodes destinés à l'application simultanée de gaz ou de vapeur et de médicaments physiologiquement actifs destinés à potentialiser et/ou à réguler l'effet du médicament et/ou du gaz ou de la vapeur physiologiquement actifs, ainsi que des appareils permettant de mieux réguler le débit dans des vaporisateurs. Les méthodes consistent (i) à appliquer simultanément le gaz et le médicament par inhalation ou infusion et (ii) à appliquer le médicament et le gaz séparément, le médicament étant appliqué à l'aide de dispositifs classiques et le gaz étant appliqué par inhalation ou par infusion des muqueuses. L'invention concerne également des appareils comprenant des dispositifs destinés à ajuster le mélange particulier de gaz et de médicament délivré à la personne traitée et des appareils comprenant un dispositif à vis différentielle destiné à réguler le débit de gaz sortant d'un contenant sous haute pression.
