Heat and pressure are used to bond delicate tissue paper artwork to scrolling materials. The tissue paper has relatively little strength in any direction and is therefore subject to tear, buckle, bubble, crumple or smudge if handled improperly. A backing panel and a matting panel are aligned and partially fed through a machine that applies heat and pressure perpendicularly to its feedpath. The artwork side of the tissue paper is covered with a paper liner for protection and the covered tissue paper is sandwiched between front and back dry mount sheets. These four layers are inserted into a head-board-piece and then sandwiched between the unadvanced portions of the backing panel and the matting panel. The whole sandwich is then advanced through the machine wherein the heat and pressure bond the tissue paper to the backing panel and the matting panel to the paper liner and the backing panel. A window is cut through the matting panel, the front dry mount sheet and the paper liner to reveal the art on the tissue paper, excess or uneven edges are trimmed, and the scroll is framed.
