A method and apparatus are provided for minimizing the emissions of odorous gases and fatty acids generated by digestible and odiferous waste. The apparatus includes a treatment comprising oil, activated carbon and a base buffering agent. The apparatus also includes a system for delivering the treatment through a low pressure output, such as a low pressure manifold (1) with a plurality of delivery pipes (2). A starter plank (4), made of concrete, used for mounting the apparatus on a wall and a flotation board (5), made of foamed polystyrene board, directs the flow of the treatment onto the surface of the waste. The method includes applying oil and activated carbon to the surface of liquid waste and injecting a base buffering agent below the surface of the oil/activated carbon layer. The oil and activated carbon create a seal that prevents odorous emissions from entering the air space above the liquid waste and the base buffering system neutralizes the acidic acid.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de minimiser les émissions de gaz et d'acides gras odoriférants émis par les déchets digestibles et odoriférants. L'appareil comprend un traitement renfermant de l'huile, du charbon actif et un agent tampon de base. L'appareil comprend également un système permettant d'effectuer le traitement via un orifice de sortie à basse pression, tel qu'un collecteur à basse pression (1) pourvu de plusieurs tubes de refoulement (2). Un panneau de mise en service (4), conçu en béton, utilisé aux de fins de monter l'appareil sur une paroi, ainsi qu'une planche de flottaison (5), en polystyrène mousse, dirigent le flux du traitement sur la surface des déchets. Le procédé consiste à appliquer l'huile et le charbon actif sur la surface des déchets liquides et à injecter un agent tampon de base au-dessous de la surface de la couche huile/charbon actif. L'huile et le charbon actif créent une barrière hermétique empêchant des émissions odorantes de pénétrer dans l'espace situé au-dessus des déchets liquides et le système tampon de base neutralise les déchets acides.
