The invention relates to a method and to a system for controlling a sliding device (1) for a fifth wheel coupling (3) arranged on a towing vehicle (2), wherein the sliding device (1) comprises a substructure having at least one guide rail (4) oriented in the driving direction, a movable slide (5), which supports the fifth wheel coupling (3) and engages on the guide rail (4), and a control unit (6), to which a motorized drive unit (7) for moving the slide (5) and an actuator (8) for fixing the slide (5) relative to the guide rail (4) are connected. The aim of the invention was to provide a method and a control system with which a sufficiently large gap width (W) can be set between the towing vehicle (2) and the trailer (14) in a timely manner. This is achieved, among other things, by a method in which a distance measurement is performed to detect an obstruction (9) in front of the towing vehicle (2), the signal of the measurement is processed into a control signal in the control unit (6), and a start-up of the motorized drive unit (7) and/or the actuator (8) is initiated therewith.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un système pour commander un dispositif de déplacement (1) destiné à une sellette d'attelage (3) disposée sur un véhicule tracteur (2). Le dispositif de déplacement (1) comprend un châssis présentant au moins un rail de guidage (4) orienté dans la direction de déplacement du véhicule, un chariot (5) mobile qui porte la sellette d'attelage (3) et vient en prise avec le rail de guidage (4), et un appareil de commande (6) auquel sont raccordés une unité d'entraînement à moteur (7) assurant le déplacement du chariot (5) et un actionneur (8) servant à immobiliser le chariot (5) par rapport au rail de guidage (4). L'invention a pour objet de fournir un procédé et un système de commande permettant un ajustage approprié d'un espacement (W) suffisamment grand entre le véhicule tracteur (2) et une remorque (14). A cet effet, l'invention a pour objet un procédé qui permet de réaliser une mesure de distance pour détecter un obstacle (9) se trouvant à l'avant du véhicule tracteur (2) et de traiter le signal de mesure dans l'appareil de commande (6) pour donner un signal de commande et ainsi amorcer une mise en marche de l'unité d'entraînement à moteur (7) et/ou de l'actionneur (8).
