A method is described for the production of a tubular knitted article on a circular knitting machine, in which a needle cylinder knits said tubular article (M) beginning at an initial end and finishing at a final end. At the end of the knitting of said tubular article, the latter is partly released from the needles (5), engaged by transfer members (21, 23) and then released completely from the needles and transferred to means for closing said second end.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de produire un article tubulaire tricoté à l'aide d'une machine à tricoter circulaire, dans laquelle une aiguille tricote cet article tubulaire (M) en partant d'une extrémité initiale et en terminant à une extrémité finale. Une fois tricoté ledit article tubulaire, celui-ci est partiellement retiré des aiguilles (5), saisi par des dispositifs de transfert (21, 23), et enfin totalement libéré desdites aiguilles pour être transféré vers des organes conçus pour fermer la seconde extrémité de cet article.
