According to known methods for producing a synthetic quartz glass pipe, a porous SiO2 blank is formed by deposition of SiO2 particles on the cylinder jacket surface of a mandrel rotating about its longitudinal axis, after which the mandrel is removed and the blank sintered. The aim of the invention is to provide, on the basis of the above, an economical method for the production of quartz glass pipes which simplifies the use of economical, cylindrical mandrels. To facilitate the removal of the mandrel (22),he invention provides for a face end (25) of the blank (6) to be fixed in a recess (11) having a passage (15) and a fixed counter support (13) made of a deformable mass, and for said end to be aligned in such a way that the mandrel (22) extends through the passage (15). The mandrel (22) is subjected to a tensile or pushing force which acts in the direction of the longitudinal axis (23) of the mandrel and by means of which the end (25) of the blank (6) is pressed against the counter support (13). Said force is increased continuously util the mandrel (22) detaches from the blank (6). The invention also relates to a suitable device for removing mandrels from blanks, which comprises a holding device (11; 17) for fixing and aligning the blank (6). Said device has a recess (11) for receiving one of the ends (25) of the blank (6). The recess is provided with a counter support (13) made of a deformable mass and has a passage (15) through which the mandrel (22) is able to pass. The device also comprises a pulling or pushing device (5) which engages the mandrel (22) and acts in the direction of the longitudinal axis (23) of same. By means of said device the end (25) of the blank (6) connected to the mandrel (22) can be moved against the counter support (13).
On connaît des procédés de production d'un tube à partir de verre quartzeux synthétique selon lesquels une ébauche de SiO¿2? est formée par dépôt de particules de SiO¿2? sur la surface latérale cylindrique d'un mandrin tournant autour de son axe longitudinal, le mandrin étant ensuite retiré et l'ébauche frittée. L'objectif de l'invention est, à partir de cela, de créer un procédé économique de fabrication de tubes en verre quartzeux qui facilite l'utilisation de mandrins bon marché cylindriques. A cet effet, il est proposé que, pour permettre le retrait du mandrin (22), une extrémité faciale (25) de l'ébauche (6) soit, dans un logement (11) qui comprend un passage (15) et une butée (13) fixe constituée d'une matière déformable, bloquée et orientée de telle sorte que le mandrin (22) s'étende à travers le passage (15). Sur le mandrin (22) est appliquée une force de traction ou de poussée agissant dans le sens de l'axe longitudinal (23) du mandrin, force au moyen de laquelle l'extrémité (25) de l'ébauche (6) est pressée contre la butée (13), cette force étant augmentée en continu jusqu'à ce que le mandrin (22) se libère de l'ébauche (6). L'invention concerne en outre un dispositif permettant de retirer des mandrins d'ébauches, lequel comprend un dispositif de maintien (11; 17) servant à bloquer et orienter l'ébauche (6), qui comporte un logement (11) destiné à une des extrémités (25) de l'ébauche (6), ledit logement étant pourvu d'une butée (13) constituée d'une matière déformable et présentant un passage (15) à travers lequel s'étend le mandrin (22). Ce dispositif comprend également un dispositif de traction ou de poussée (5) serrant le mandrin (22) et agissant dans le sens de l'axe longitudinal (23) de celui-ci, au moyen duquel l'extrémité (25) de l'ébauche (6) reliée au mandrin (22) peut être amenée contre la butée (13).
