ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE For the purpose of identifying glycerin by oxidation with oxygen in the presence of glycerinoxidase and measuring the oxygen consumption or hydrogen peroxide formation, use is made of a glycerinoxidase from Aspergillus spec. DSM 1729; a reagent suitable for this method consists of glycerinoxidase from Aspergillus spec. DSM 1729 and a system for determining hydrogen peroxide, and also contains, if necessary, means for the saponification of esterified glycerin.
