ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A method and solution for accelerating germination of seeds. The solution comprises a liquid extract of peat moss rich in organic acids selected from the group consisting of ulmin acid, kren acid, gein acid, humin acid and apokren acid, in combination with 1 to 4 % per volume of sodium perchloride based on the volume of liquid extract. Acceleration of germination of the seeds can be obtained by immerging the seeds into the above solution for two to eight, but preferably two to three hours, at the ambient temperature.
