A method for coproducing calcium carbonate and sodium hydroxide by causticising sodium carbonate using milk of lime, separating the calcium carbonate and sodium hydroxide produced in the causticising step, and carbonating a mixture of milk of lime and calcium carbonate from the causticising step.
