The invention relates to a method for determining and/or inspecting the content of coin rolls (1) which are wrapped in a preferably transparent packaging material (16). According to said method, optical recognition means (3) on the surface area of the cylinder (5) detect at least one line that extends across the entire length of the coin roll (1) and convert it to a signal. Said signal is supplied to an evaluation unit (8), in which evaluation unit (8) the signal is evaluated with respect to recurrent signal features and the number of periods of the signal features are determined and stored as the number of coins packaged in the coin roll (1). The evaluation unit (8) uses the stored number of coins to control means for displaying the number of coins (9) and/or a recording device (10). The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the inventive method.
L'invention concerne un procédé de détermination et/ou de contrôle du contenu de rouleaux de pièces de monnaie (1) enveloppés dans un matériau d'emballage, de préférence transparent (16), caractérisé en ce que des moyens de détection optique (3) prévus sur la surface latérale (5) du cylindre, détectent au moins une ligne s'étendant sur toute l'étendue longitudinale du rouleau de pièces (1) et la transforment en un signal, en ce que le signal est envoyé à une unité d'évaluation (8), en ce que ledit signal est évalué, dans cette unité d'évaluation (8), en caractéristiques de signaux se répétant périodiquement, le nombre de périodes de ces caractéristiques est déterminé et mémorisé en tant que nombre de pièces de monnaie emballées dans le rouleau de pièces (1), et en ce qu'on commande, au moyen de l'unité d'évaluation (8), des moyens d'affichage du nombre de pièces de monnaie (9) et /ou une unité d'archivage (10) avec le nombre de pièces de monnaie mémorisé. L'invention concerne en outre un dispositif pour la mise en oeuvre de ce procédé.
