A method for a fabricating a silica glass was provided. The method includes the steps of adding silica and a dispersant to a premix solution obtained by dissolving a monomer for acrylic resin and a cross-linking agent in a distilled water, and dispersing the mixed solution, and adjusting the pH of the mixture, to form a sol; removing air bubbles from the sol, and then aging the resultant sol;adding a polymerization initiator and a catalyst to the aging-treated sol, and adjusting the pH of the reaction mixture; pouring the reaction mixture into a mold, and then gelating the mixture; aging the obtained gel; demolding the aging-treated gel, and then drying the demolded gel; thermally-treating the dried gel to remove organic substances from the gel; and performing a hydroxy group elimination reaction and a sintering reaction on the gel from which organic substances have been removed. Therefore, a high purity silica glass tube, in which cracking after drying scarcely occurs and shrinking ratio is markedly low, can be obtained. Also, a large silica glass tube can be manufactured by this fabrication method.

Divulgation d'une méthode pour fabriquer un verre de silice. Cette méthode comprend les étapes suivantes : l'addition de silice et d'un agent dispersant à une pré-solution obtenue en dissolvant un monomère de résine acrylique et un agent de réticulation dans de l'eau distillée; la dispersion de la solution mélangée et l'ajustement du pH de ce mélange afin de former un sol; l'élimination des bulles d'air de ce sol et son vieillissement; l'addition d'un amorceur de polymérisation et d'un catalyseur au sol vieilli, et l'ajustement du pH de ce mélange réactionnel; le coulage de ce mélange réactionnel dans un moule et, ensuite, sa gélification; le vieillissement du gel obtenu; le démoulage du gel vieilli, puis son séchage; le traitement thermique du gel séché afin d'en éliminer des substances organiques; l'élimination de groupements hydroxy à l'aide d'une réaction et une sintérisation du gel duquel on avait éliminé les substances organiques. On peut ainsi obtenir un tube en verre de silice de haute pureté, dans lequel il est rare d'observer un criquage après le séchage et dont le taux de retrait est remarquablement faible. On divulgue aussi un tube en verre de silice de grande dimension produit grâce à cette méthode.
