A B S T R A C T A method of making and packaging beef steak rolls is shown in this specification. The method is suitable for mass producing beef steak rolls economically. The beef steak is pre-cooked and rolled within a non-absorbant flexible cooked pastry such that the steak retains its individually cooked flavour. The steak roll is packaged by a wrapper with an end portion of the roll extending ourside the wrapper for ready consumption. The wrapper prevents dripping of any fluid from the roll to the consumer's clothing. The wrapper is provided with a plurality of parallel perforated lines such that it may be progressively and conveniently removed bit by bit f? con- suming the roll without it being entirely removed by the tear- ing operation.
