A method for manufacturing a mineral fiber product (36) comprises establishing a stream of mineral fibers (18) directing polymeric fibers toward the stream of mineral fibers (18) to cause intermingling of the polymeric material, and applying heat to the polymer fibers (30) so that some of them become softened to the extent that they lose their fibrous form and become attached to the mineral fibers (18) as non-fibrous particles, whereas some of the polymer fibers (30) retain their fibrous form.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un produit en fibres minérales (36) comprenant les étapes suivantes: on établit un flux de fibres minérales (18), on dirige des fibres polymères vers ce flux de fibres minérales (18) pour provoquer l'entremêlement du matériau polymère dans les fibres minérales, puis on chauffe les fibres polymères (30) pour que quelques-unes d'entre elles se ramollissent jusqu'à perdre leur forme fibreuse et s'attachent ainsi aux fibres minérales (18) comme particules non fibreuses, tandis que d'autres de ces fibres polymères (30) conservent leur forme fibreuse.
