A method for manufacturing alkali metal or alkaline-earth metal formate, starting from a formate anion comprises at least the following sequential steps: A) conversion of a solid anion exchanger to formate form by feeding into it a solution containing a formate anion, B) exchanging the formate anion in the anion exchanger for a replacing anion by feeding into it an alkali metal or alkaline-earth metal salt solution of this replacing anion, C) recovering the alkali metal or alkaline-earth metal formate solution eluted from the anion exchanger during the exchange of the formate anion. The anion exchanger is converted to formate form by feeding into it a sodium formate solution, a formic acid solution or a solution which contains both sodium formate and formic acid. The method can be used for production of potassium formate or calcium formate.
Ce procédé de fabrication de formiate de métaux alcalins ou alcalino-terreux à partir d'un anion formiate comprend les étapes suivantes consistant: A) à convertir sous forme de formiate un échangeur d'anions solide, en l'introduisant dans une solution contenant un anion formiate, B) à échanger l'anion formiate, dans l'échangeur d'anions, par un anion de remplacement, en introduisant dans l'échangeur d'anions une solution d'un sel de métal alcalin ou alcalino-terreux de l'anion de remplacement et C) à récupérer la solution de formiate de métal alcalin ou alcalino-terreux, éluée à partir de l'échangeur d'anions, lors de l'échange de l'anion formiate. On convertit en formiate l'échangeur d'anions en introduisant celui-ci dans une solution de formiate de sodium, dans une solution d'acide formique ou dans une solution contenant à la fois du formiate de sodium et de l'acide formique. On peut utiliser ce procédé pour produire du formiate de potassium ou de calcium.
