The invention relates to a reciprocating internal combustion engine (10) comprising a tank (23), at least one cylinder (11), a piston (12) that can perform an axial reciprocating movement, is housed inside said cylinder, and includes a head and an arm hinged to said head, and at least one intake valve (19) and one exhaust valve (20) which are provided on the cylinder above the piston (12) and above two injectors (21a and 21b). The engine further comprises a device (27) for generating, by water electrolysis, gaseous dihydrogen which is fed into the cylinder (11) and the explosion of which starts moving the piston (12) beyond the top dead center (TDC). A predetermined volume of water is then injected, which is instantaneously vaporized by the heat generated by the explosion of the gaseous dihydrogen. The hot steam pushes the piston (12) towards the bottom dead center (BDC). The steam generated by the evaporation of water and by the combustion of the gaseous dihydrogen is then discharged through the exhaust valve (20). Said engine has the advantage of being clean, generating only steam, and of using a fuel that is an indefinitely renewable natural material, i.e. salt water, for example seawater.
L'invention concerne un moteur à explosion du type alternatif (10), comportant un réservoir (23), au moins un cylindre (11), un piston mobile (12) selon un mouvement axial alternatif logé à l'intérieur de ce cylindre, ce piston ayant une tête et un bras articulé à cette tête, et au moins une soupape d'admission (19) et une soupape d'échappement (20) ménagées sur le cylindre au-dessus dudit piston (12) et de deux injecteurs (21a, et 21b). Il est équipé d'un dispositif (27) pour produire par électrolyse de l'eau, du dihydrogène gazeux qui est introduit dans le cylindre (11) et dont l'explosion commence à déplacer le piston (12) au-delà du point mort haut (PMH). On injecte ensuite un volume prédéterminé d'eau qui se vaporise instantanément sous l'effet de la chaleur produite par l'explosion du dihydrogène gazeux. La vapeur d'eau chaude pousse le piston (12) vers le point mort bas (PMB). La vapeur d'eau produite par évaporation et par la combustion du dihydrogène gazeux est ensuite évacuée par la soupape d'échappement (20). L'avantage de ce moteur est qu'il est propre puisqu'il ne produit que de la vapeur d'eau et que le carburant est un produit naturel indéfiniment renouvelable, à savoir de l'eau salée, par exemple de l'eau de mer.
