A method for partially oxidising a gas stream containing hydrogen sulphide in a Claus furnace, wherein (a) the hydrogen sulphide-containing gas stream and an oxygen-enriched gas stream are injected into the Claus furnace at substantially parallel rates, (b) the injection rate of the hydrogen sulphide- containing gas stream and the injection rate of the oxygen-enriched gas stream are controlled, (c) the oxygen in the oxygen-enriched gas stream is reacted with the hydrogen sulphide, and (d) a hydrogen sulphide-depleted and sulphur- enriched gas stream is produced at the outlet of the Claus furnace.
Un procédé d'oxydation partielle dans un four Claus d'un flux de gaz comprenant du sulfure d'hydrogène, caractérisé en ce qu'on met en oeuvre les étapes suivantes: (a) on injecte dans le four Claus le flux de gaz comprenant le sulfure d'hydrogène et un flux de gaz enrichi en oxygène, les vitesses d'injection de chacun de ces flux étant sensiblement parallèles, (b) on contrôle la vitesse d'injection du flux de gaz comprenant du sulfure d'hydrogène et la vitesse d'injection du flux de gaz enrichi en oxygène, (c) on fait réagir l'oxygène du flux de gaz enrichi en oxygène avec le sulfure d'hydrogène, (d) on obtient un flux gazeux appauvri en sulfure d'hydrogène et enrichi en soufre à la sortie du four Claus.
